SKIRT
BORUM ESHØJ
ca. 1350 BCE
Two rectangles of handwoven cloth joined with a single central seam form the skirt of the Borum Eshøj woman. This reconstruction is handwoven according to the textile remains preserved at Borum Eshøj, with 44 warp and 30 weft threads per 10cm2. A plaited selvedge finishes the edges of the cloth. The garment is fastened around the waist with a twined woolen cord.
