Modernised Crenellations

How to modernise the defining feature of LEGO® Castle? The crenellations were updated with bowed elements to modernise the design.

Arches

Every straight line terminates in a rounded form, a bow or arch, to soften the edges of the model.

Angled Forms for Water

The water is represented by consistent 45-degree angled forms to contrast with softer landscape elements.

Round Forms for Grass

Grass is consistently represented by rounded, textured forms to establish a clear visual language.

Jagged Rocks

Rocks are represented only by dark grey angled slopes to distinguish them from castle architecture.

Arrow Loops

A new arrow loop design defines castle walls while maintaining the visual language of classic LEGO® Castle.

Story Starters

Hidden and interconnected stories are woven throughout the model to bring the world to life.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Design consistency not only created a new world for LEGO® Castle, but crucially it provided people with the tools to be part of that world. Fans could now take pride in building creations that 'fit' into the LEGO® Castle universe, and The LEGO Group now has a unique design style.
