A handmade historical reproduction of a leather buccaneer cartouche box from the 17th century

Cartouche Box

EARLY MODERN MARITIME
1620 - 1690 CE

This replica cartouche box is based on an artifact recovered from the wreck of the Elizabeth and Mary, a vessel lost in 1690. Worn on a waist belt or over the shoulder, the original was used to carry paper cartridges for a flintlock musket. This reproduction is constructed in a vegetable tanned leather with saddle stitched seams and a simple debossed trim.
